Are you a single parent? Are you feeling overwhelmed?

Being a parent is hard work. If you find yourself without supports, it can seem even harder. Fatigue, stress, guilt, temper tantrums, 2:00 feedings... loneliness... Sound familiar?

The Family Friend Program connects single parents with a screened, trained, competent “family friend” for friendship, support, mentoring and connection to community resources.

Referral is through community partners or you can self refer. You are not alone!

Looking for a volunteer opportunity where you can make a difference in the life of a family?

The Family Friend Program matches volunteers as competent companions/support person to single parents who are feeling alone due to the stresses of parenting young children.  Family Friends provide mentorship/friendship, practical and emotional support, and mutually agreed upon activities.

We provide:

• Training in active communication skills
• Training specific to building esteem in others
• Monthly in-service trainings
• Ongoing support
• Peer support
• Volunteer appreciation events
